![]() ![]() Cool, I think I've finally figured out how this goes. Ok, figured out that one, even though it isn't very obvious at first how to even get to your queue to play them. I can add podcast episodes to "My Podcasts", but they play in reverse chronological order (newest release first), which is horrible for any episodic media. So now that they're again no longer available on Google Podcast app I've had to retackle Spotify and after more or less figuring out how it works, I've decided that it is the absolute worst and most annoying platform for podcasts. Now that Spotify is spending money like crazy to lock in exclusive contracts it forces people into their shitty garden, which is interesting considering how much money they are spending on that content that they aren't making it easier for people actually ACCESS that content. That is why I have used other podcast players, because they are better at it. I like to pick and choose what I listen to and some episodes I just don't care for. ![]() If I just had a mix of shows I listened to all the time it's probably ok. To listen to any specific podcast episode I have to jump through way too many hoops to get there. There is nothing wrong with people saying they don't like it and find the interface and UI to be terrible. I would argue that it's incredibly mediocre as a streaming platform as well, but the podcast part specifically is just trash. It's the fact that Spotify is absolute garbage for listening to podcasts. It isn't a matter of figuring out a simple app. Absolute trash considering they back you into a corner to have to use it. It’s a music player that graciously allows you to listen to podcasts as well. This really is the worst podcasting app if you’re hardcore into podcasts. I drive for a living and you can’t be on a highway trying to select the next podcasts which happens if you forget to queue it up whereas in my old apps It would just auto feed to my next newest subscribed pod, or my queued playlist. These are all everyday functions for the other apps. No way to speed up / slow down playback speed. If I queue podcasts they disappear if I stop listening to podcasts to listen to music for a while. If I sort my podcasts a certain way it’s back to default setting when I open next time. Can’t multi select to mark as played, especially frustrating when you have multiple podcasts with thousands of episodes and many of them already listened to on other apps. Doesn’t feed directly into the next episode without prompting. No Feed for all new subscribed podcasts in one place. No way to playlist episodes then have them auto delete once played. Having used podcast specific players for a decade and now having to switch for this podcast, it really is that bad. ![]()
